Musashi

For a post Chaser studio audience meal we went to Musashi on Lynn's insistence. It was already after 9:30 pm (last orders) but they still took us in - yay! After a few quick decisions we were eagerly awaiting our meals.

For entrees: Takoyaki balls on a base of fried egg...

and deep fried Spicy Karaage Chicken in a pool of spicy chili sauce.

Jangers had the Unagi-don, BBQ'd pieces of eel with a sweet soy glaze on a bed of rice.

Patrick's Sashimi main looked impressive but he was disappointed to find that the upturned oyster shell lacked the creamy morsel of oyster.

Sashimi main

Both Lynn and I went for the Dinner Box, fearing that a regular main would not be sufficient. Once again our eyes were too big for our stomachs as we both struggled to finish the sushi, sashimi, spicy chicken, potato mash and selection of deep fried items.

We were in and out within 45 minutes, stomach's full and ready to brave the roaring winds on our way home.

Steam Boat

I must say that when Janger's mum invites people over for dinner, she really does go all out when it comes to the food. On this occasion, it was his dad's birthday and steam boat was on the menu. The centrepiece was the broth, surrounded by plates of seafood including crab, prawns, mussels, squid, fish cake, fish balls, seafood balls, crab sticks. We also had beef, tofu, dumplings, rice cake, varieties of mushrooms and a mound of leafy greens and snow peas for dunking in the broth.

While it might not look like much picture, there were more than ample reserves waiting in the kitchen for whenever anything ran low. To finish off the meal we added rice noodles to the hotpot to soak up all the sweetness from the seafood and meat infused into the soup.
